Wi-Fi / AirPlay Tips

Goto speedtest.net and run another test. If you're getting over 15 Mb, the problem is not with the local network but rather with the site you are trying to hit (e.g. netflix), or possibly your device.
Tip: Many issues can be resolved by simply turning your wi-fi off and back on again.
Macs:
Tip: If your Wi-Fi is slow waking from sleep(opening lid) - Turn Wi-Fi off, wait 5 seconds and turn it back on.
- Critical: Be sure that you're up to date(at least 10.11.x).
- Check your version: Click the Apple icon in the Upper-lefthand corner > About this Mac (Anything less that 10.11 is horrible)
- If you are comfortable updating your machine, PLEASE Backup your files first (e.g. using google drive, dropbox, Time Machine, etc.) - OR check with the Solution Center
- NOTE: You will get an error! See step 2.4.
- NOTE: This will not delete other home or work Wi-Fi networks.
- Click to download the zipped app that is attached(near the bottom) to this article
- Double-click the downloaded file to unzip
- Run the SHU Wi-Fi Reset app and follow prompts
- If it won't open because it's from an unidentified developer, do this: Right-click(Control-Click) > Open > Open -or- System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General > Open Anyway - you may have to do this twice.
- Click Apple logo in upper-left-hand corner > System Preferences... > Bluetooth > Be sure it says "Bluetooth: On" If not click Turn Bluetooth On
iPads:
- Critical: Be sure you're up to date(at least 8.4): Settings > General > Software Update
- To see what version you have: Settings > General > About. Your version is listed under Version.
- Swipe up from the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the Bluetooth icon
to turn bluetooth on or off(white is ON).
- The Bluetooth status is now changed.
